Meat packaging
May 22, 2007Why does meat have to come in packages that leak? I hate buying meat because half the time you pick up the package and have blood all over your hands or if not right away, it gets on something else in your cart or it gets on the conveyor belt when you check out.
One time when Elisa was around 1 and was with me at the grocery store, I got blood all over my hands and I asked in the meat department for some paper towel and hand sanitizer and the kid said they didn’t have any. Yeah, right. He did give me a paper towel finally. When I checked out I complained and the manager said he should have been more helpful but she still didn’t offer me much. Seriously, why can’t they put meat in ziploc bags that are way more secure? And although I’m not a germ freak or an advocate of hand sanitizer, in that situation, I think hand sanitizer should be readily available to patrons of the store.
Oh, well. I’m not giving meat up anytime soon (see Maker’s Diet) nor am I butchering my own, so I guess I’m stuck.
Writing
April 8, 2007It struck me how time consuming blogging/writing is. I have a lot of things I want to write about but I don’t have the time!! There’s really no reason for me to share that but I wanted to.
More on Wal-Mart
April 3, 2007Wow
February 11, 2007I had no idea it had been so long since I had posted. I knew it had been awhile. I haven’t been as organized through these dreary winter months. I also have been out of town twice since my last post. Once was to my high school reunion; or more like school reunion, not my class reunion but classes 1993 to 2003 (I was ‘95; it was open to anyone but three of us from ‘95 & ‘97 planned it). If you’re confused, realize that my graduating class was 13, the biggest in the history of the school in Madrid, Spain. The classes have been as small as one. And the school was like a family which is why the reunion was so special.
Anyway . . . I’m working on a post and should get back to normal soon.
Spam
December 9, 2006If you have a lot of spam, this might be a solution. I don’t have an account there but Matthew does.
Russell Means part 2
November 26, 2006Russell Means ran for the Libertarian nomination for President in 1987.
Libertarians stand for free-market economics, and no government interference for people’s lives. Means wrote (pg. 482) “it is a party of principle; the platform does not change from year to year. Libertarians do not compromise. They do not sell out. In contrast, Demopublicans insist that politics is the art of compromise. I believe politics should be the art of principles.”
Busy!
October 23, 2006Okay so I failed to write my (real) weekend post. This weekend a good friend of Matthew’s got married in Little Rock and he was in the wedding and we ended up staying the night Friday down there since he had plans for the groomsmen Saturday and since I wanted to give my parents a tour of the rivermarket district . . . I also translated Friday morning so I had no time until today which other than my nap was spent shopping, walking outside in the freezing wind but beautiful sunshine, etc. I was going to try to write a post now while my family (parents are in town) watches a movie I’ve seen but I remembered I have a Bible study to complete for my women’s group tomorrow so it’s not going to get done.
Stay tuned.
